The price you see is rarely the price you pay
Shop for a used car on Long Island and you will notice something strange at the paperwork stage. The car that was listed at one price suddenly costs hundreds more. The difference is dealer fees: documentation fees, preparation fees, certification fees, and other line items added on top of the advertised price.
The fees you will run into
The most common is the documentation or "doc" fee, charged for processing paperwork. Beyond that, some dealers add charges for vehicle preparation, reconditioning certification, nitrogen filled tires, fabric protection, or etched glass security. Individually they sound small. Together they can move the real price well above the number that got you in the door.
How to compare prices the right way
Ignore the sticker and ask every dealer the same question: what is the out-the-door price? That means the vehicle price plus every fee the dealer charges, before New York tax, title, and registration, which are set by the state and are the same everywhere. When two dealers quote the same car, the out-the-door number is the only honest comparison.
Our answer: the windshield price is the price
At AR Motorsports we sell every vehicle at the listed price with no dealer fees added. No documentation fee, no prep fee, no surprise line items in the finance office. You pay the listed price plus only the tax, title, and registration New York requires. That is the whole arithmetic.
